Our History -

The concept behind the 12 Angels Investment Group began in 2004 in a recovery house in Los Angeles, California. The treatment center provided exceptional care and support of the Addicts while in treatment but did not have enough resources to support Addicts on their reentry into the community. As a result many Addicts relapsed returned to treatment, ended up in jail or died. We believe we can increase the percentage of addicts and alcoholics that make into long term sobriety by creating vocational programs, outpatient support groups and businesses that support this transition more effectively.

Many Addicts who are highly educated with previously successful careers are unable to find basic employment due to criminal records, inconsistent work histories and scarred reputations. Our organization invests time and money into exceptionally talented “Addict Entrepreneurs” who can stay sober for a minimum of two years, stay involved and supportive of the community and create a successful business. As a requirement for our support they must make a commitment to provide jobs and opportunities to addicts and alcoholics in early recovery.

The 12 Angels believe we can accomplish our double bottom line objectives providing positive returns for our investors and helping identify and support ventures that mitigate the damage addiction causes in our society. By connecting our portfolio companies with the local business resources and recovery communities, The 12 Angels aims to create a vital network.

If fame, fortune and opportunity were enough to overcome addiction we would not see the number of celebrities, financially successful individuals or their children suffering from addictive disorders. Prosperity is not the solution to addiction. Recovery from addiction requires a profound transformation of the individual otherwise fame, fortune and opportunity may accelerate the progression of the disease. As Wes Nisker’s said “Any revolution has to start with the transformation of the individual, otherwise individuals are corrupted by the power they get if their revolution succeeds.”

We ask more of our portfolio businesses; we want financial success and profit as well as service to society.

We believe in a three stage process:

Immerse yourself in recovery
Be productive and contribute
Give back

The first project successfully handled by the 12 Angels was the opening of Wonderland Center in July.

Wonderland Center is a new residential treatment center located in Laurel Canyon. The opening included two parties hosting over 350 people from the sober community.

The center is fully operational, providing residential treatment, out-patient services, sober companions, and sober living accommodations. The Wonderland Treatment team brings together the best of LA's addiction prevention professionals, and nearly all of the 12 beds available were full within the first month.
